Merging consulting and art

I use graphic techniques to help my consulting clients, and my art is often on technical themes.  So this website now includes both my consulting blog (formerly metimea.ca) and my artworks (formerly meta-geometer.com).

I’ve written before about how my clients have an immediate, visceral response when they see a diagram, just as they would when viewing a photograph or painting.  This means that to convey the desired message, my technical diagrams must not only use standardized notation; they also need to apply the aesthetic principles of graphic design.

Information also needs to appeal to and engage the reader.  In this post-literate age, a picture is still worth a thousand words, and now it loads faster on the Internet!  So in my consultations, I emphasize one-page diagrams rather than long reports, and on this website you will see lots more images than before.
